Yacht camera system

A yacht camera system, also known as onboard video surveillance system or yacht security system is considered the use of video cameras to transmit a signal to a set of monitors.

The purpose of a yacht camera system varies from surveillance and security needs or safe navigation. For navigation purposes thermal cameras are used at night and 360 surround view cameras are used to get a realistic image from the ship's surroundings.

Depending the purpose and size of the yacht, yacht camera systems vary from simple, one camera setups to a setup with multiple sensors and cameras. Controller software together with features as object detection and intelligently enhances the situation awareness of the captain.

Onboard video recorders, also known as Sail Recorders are used to playback the recorded camera and sensor streams.
